MAP Grad Camp
Every year all the MAP students in FLE2 go on a camp to cap off their time in the program as we move into mainstream next year.
Almost all the students on this camp have been in MAP for 3 years, but despite that we’ve all shared classes with each other, it still surprised me how much more there was to everyone than meets the eye.
We MAP grads planned the vast majority of this camp on our own, through meetings that were definitely not strategically planned to skip Connect. Camp wasn’t without a few conflict points, but we persevered and by the second day we were all talking around the campfire, reconnected. That’s the beauty of MAP camps.
I don’t say this lightly, but this was the best MAP camp I’ve ever been on, and I will cherish these last three years and the people in them for the rest of my life.

2025 MAP shorts
This term the MAP Language students have been creating short stories📖to turn into physical books accompanied by a prop or model to promote their book. Students were encouraged to use their creativity to guide the outcome of the program as modern day artists, character creators🎭, designers, creative directors and event organisers.
The theme was to tell a story about 'relationship changes over time'⏳ which could be human to human, human to animal, multigenerational, family, friends, school or work. Students considered questions such as, ‘How do they evolve or what changes happen?’ ‘Have you dug into your characters thoughts and feelings?’ Inspiration came from Pixar writers, producers and directors 🎬to help through the process.
The MAP Shorts Showcase was held this morning 🌟– more information about the students’ work to be featured next term.
